After reflecting on God’s wondrous plan of salvation for both Jews and Gentiles, the apostle Paul bursts into a passionate anthem of praise: “ Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out!” (Romans 11:33).

Paul’s adoration reminds us that God’s providence is not only vast but also unfathomable.
He concludes with a declaration that captures the essence of divine sovereignty:“ For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36 ). This verse teaches us that God is the source, the sustainer, and the supreme goal of all creation. Everything begins with Him, is upheld by Him, and finds its fulfillment in Him.

From beginning to end we are wholly dependent on God. He is not only our Creator but also the Architect of our eternal salvation (John 3:16). He sustains our earthly existence, seals us with His Spirit and accomplishes our redemption (Ephesians 1:13). He is our life’s purpose and the goal of our salvation (Philippians 3:12–14). Truly, in Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).

Paul was filled with awe and praise at the depth of the of the riches of God’s mysteries and we should too. To recognize that all things are from Him, through Him, and to Him should bring us to our knees in humble adoration and praise. Our response to providence should be worship and life devoted to glorifying the One who holds all things together. What’s your response?
