The Fullness of the Resurrection

Peace Secured

Gospel of John 20:19-21

We have to consider who is in that room.
Peter is there—the one who denied Jesus. Others are there—who ran when things got difficult.
And yet Jesus says, “Peace.”

There is no replaying of failure. No revisiting of their lowest moments.
Why? Because the resurrection has already addressed it.
The cross dealt with sin. The resurrection confirms the victory.

So when Jesus speaks peace, He is saying that our past no longer has authority over our identity. What we have done is not greater than what He has accomplished. “HALLELUJAH!!!!” What a joy to know that the resurrection has ratified our NEW IDENTITY. No longer known to God as our former selves!!!!!

This is why peace comes before purpose. We cannot move boldly if we are still negotiating our worth internally. The resurrection does not ignore the past—it redefines its power over us.

What past failures are we still allowing to speak into who we are today?

Lord, help us to see our past through the lens of Your finished work, not through the weight of our mistakes.
